People who suffer from a
variety of skin conditions have to avoid certain foods,
detergents and even cloth materials; having Eczema is no
different. You have to learn what to avoid if you have
Eczema because it could lessen the amount or the severity of
flare ups you have. First off, you need to avoid stressful
situations. Easier said than done; we know. But stress is
one of the major factors that cause many skin conditions. If
your life is uncontrollably stressful, then try hard to find
ways to relax every day.
In addition to stress, there
are other things that you need to steer clear of when you
are concerned about your skin rashes. You should not drink
(or at least limit the amount of) alcohol. Sorry, you may
not want to hear it, but it's true. Alcohol can cause
dehydration in your blood cells which in turn causes your
skin cell and pores to shrink. All of that will cause the
redness you see when your rash flares. Does that mean that
alcohol is the only culprit involved in this redness? No, it
isn't because there are other foods and beverages that can
cause this flushing in the skin. High carb, high fat foods
as well as sugary foods cause vessel dilation. As well as
foods like spicy and acidic foods like hot sauce, peppers,
marinades, and citrus juices. Other foods that can irritate
the skin are coffee, teas, sodas, and chocolates, as well as
foods and drinks with sugar substitutes. These items have
been found to cause an obvious increase in skin irritation.
Sometimes it takes up to sixty days to see the results of
this, which is why most people overlook this as being the
reasoning behind the rashes.
So you see, there are many
things that we take for granted that you have to be aware of
when you have skin conditions. The toxins that go into your
body (including stress) must come out in some way. Often,
people prone to skin ailments, see this manifest in
outbreaks whether it be psoriasis, acne, or Eczema. The key
is knowing what to avoid if you have issues like Eczema.
